"My 3 months old daughter was diagnosed with torticollis, GERD and had severe sensitivity with her digestion. We were at our wits end when we first saw Dr. Ofek. After just a few weeks of working with her she no longer screamed in pain for hours because of gas and reflux and no longer prefers to turn her head to one side only. She can now sleep on her stomach once again. He has helped in making her a happy baby that smiles and laughs.... I wish we had seen him from the beginning so that my daughter didn't have to endure the pain. He has become a life line to us and has given us our daughter back.
My name is Dr. Amit Ofek, pronounced (A-meet), and welcome to our office. If a friend has referred you, then you may have heard that I am passionate about helping kids and families reach their ultimate health potential and quality of life. A major focus in my office is kids and the health of their developing brains and nervous systems. I believe that every child has the birthright to be healthy and vital so they may develop to be wonderful, healthy adults.
Over the past few years, I have noticed a dramatic increase in cases of pediatric health issues. These issues vary drastically from emotional, behavioral and personality changes, to sensory integration problems, developmental delays, weakened immune systems, learning disabilities and more. These serious health issues are a daily reality for many parents in our community and many of my patients. So many parents are unaware that impairment or damage to the nerve system is not always about pain. It can cause subtle (and not so subtle) changes in a child’s development that can affect everything from personality and behavior to adaptation, learning, and vitality.
My mission in life is to help these kids and their families regain their health and quality of life. As part of my effort to help my community it is essential that I inform and educate as many parents as I can about the early signs of nerve system dysfunction and the devastating effects it has on kid’s development.
I grew up in Israel, which unfortunately, is riddled with wars and conflicts, and military service is mandatory and a part of everyone’s life. When I was about 3 years old, my father, who was on reserve duty at the time, was in a vehicle that was hit by an IED (improvised explosive device). His injuries were severe and extensive; he lost most of his vision in one eye and suffered major facial and body injuries. His injuries were both physical and emotional--what we know today as PTSD. Through divorce and other challenges, I saw my father struggle, and these experiences led me to make it my life’s goal to help others become whole again both physically and emotionally, creating more peace and fewer conflicts in their lives.
I recall one practice member that came to me with complaints of discomfort and pain that bothered her for years. During her care, I got to know her and her family, and learned of her frustration and stress regarding her infant son’s health. She shared with me that her 10-month old son had been getting sick on a regular basis since birth, that sick was his usual state, and fully healthy was rare. She was frustrated that no physician offered her explanations or solutions for her son’s ill health. The only solutions offered were continual rounds of antibiotics and steroids that never seemed to work. I invited her to bring her son to our office for evaluation and then to begin regular, Chiropractic care. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, she brought her son to begin care. He is now much healthier and her family’s life is back on track with a much brighter future.
It pains me to see others, especially children, suffering needlessly. Their parents are doing their best, but many still end up more medicated and less well. Because of Chiropractic, my wife, our baby boy and me are strong, healthy, active, creative, happy and vital. We, as a family, continue to receive regular Chiropractic care in order to keep well. As your Chiropractor, nothing is more satisfying to me than helping my patients unlock their true potential. I want to welcome you to my office and I encourage you to share the secret of wellness and Chiropractic with others so that we can all be surrounded by happy, healthy, well-adjusted people... starting with the kids!
Thank you for the opportunity to help you and your family reach your optimal health.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family and welcoming you into mine.
